Fluffyvader's view on Rammus

Rammus is all about defense. Playing defensively and utilizing your abilities to control who's attacking who.

Passive - Spiked Shell - 25% of your total armor is converted into attack damage

Q - Powerball - Does 100/150/200/250/300 magic damage with a 1:1 AP ratio. Will reduce the movement speed of those hit by 28/36/44/52/60%. Gives a large movement speed increase scaling up as your Powerball duration elapses.

W - Defensive Ball Curl -Gives 50/75/100/125/150 armor and returning 26/32/38/44/50 damage as magic damage with a 1:0.25 AP ratio.

E - Taunt - Forces a target to focus on yourself for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 second(s) and lowering thier armor by 10/15/20/25/30.

R - Tremors - Does 65/130/195 magic damage per second in an area around you with a 1:0.3 AP ratio. This ability can also damage structures.

I used to use Defensive Ball Curl and Taunt as my early game combo, but with a good item build which i'll show after this, you wont need the extra defense from Defensive Ball Curl and being able to last hit a Champion or initiate with Powerball is much more important.

Item Build:
Lately i've been building a Warmog's Armor as my 1st equip then going for more armor. Warmog's Armor gives a HUGE HP increase as well with a large HP/5second increase.

Boots Of Speed Upgrade (2) (Depending on the team you're playing you'll want to go with Mercury Treads or Ninja Tabi)

Spirit Visage (3) (Extra Magic Resist and 30% buff to Heal and Regeneration. Gives 12% cooldown)

Thorn Mail (5) (Armor and 25% Damage returned as Magic Damage)

Okay so that's a total of 5 item slots. My 6th item is always heavily dependant upon how the game is going or what i feel like buying.

Summoner Spells:
Heal - Keeps you in the fight longer. Along with your high armor and thus damage reduction this spell is amazing.
Cleanse - Clearing off debuffs. Keeping CCs off of you or even poisons or Ignite.

Rune Book:
50/50 Armor/Magic Resist Marks
100% Armor/Level Seals
100% Magic Resist/Level Glyphs
2 Armor/Level Quints
1 Magic Resist/Level Quint

With the damage dealt being as is, gearing Rammus towards Ability Power or Attack Power will pretty much yield the same results. However I gear my Rammus towards survivability.
